Freelancer Overview

As a graduate in robotics i have worked on many projects that involved labeling data and training models to perform specific tasks. One of the interesting projects I worked on was a board game called Shut the Box. I took numerous pictures of the board state and dice to form my data, then used Roboflow (a data labeling platform) to annotate and label the relevant elements, and finally used YOLOv8, an object detection algorithm, to train different models, the major ones being the tile detection model and the dice detection model. These models are then passed into OpenCV using a python script to enable detection through a camera. In another project, a systems integration project on a sorting system, which was a submission for a Siemens competition I participated in. My teammate and I worked on bridging the communication between a robotic and a mechatronic system located in different buildings using object detection. We took pictures of the lids to be sorted, annotated them and labelled them according to their colors and trained a model using YOLOv8. After training the model, we then passed it into OpenCv using Python, to enable our camera to detect the lids correctly.
