Medical House Officer
As a Medical House Officer (FY1 equivalent), I completed rotations in Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and ENT. My duties included assisting in clinics, emergency cases, surgeries, and carrying out daily ward responsibilities. I worked independently in various specialties while ensuring prompt escalation of complex cases to senior doctors. • Rotated every 3 months, performing tasks like drug charting, IV access, blood sampling, and investigation requests. • Responded to A&E, surgical, medical, pediatric, and obstetric/gyneacological emergencies unsupervised. • Supported consultants in clinics, performed minor surgical procedures, and took histories during outpatient visits. • Carried out ward rounds, post-round orders, and maintained effective communication with seniors.
