Senior Medical Imaging Annotator – CT/MRI Segmentation Specialist
I'm a Senior Medical Imaging Annotator working with a major medical AI training initiative since January 2023, where I've been conducting semantic segmentation on 10,000+ anonymized CT/MRI DICOM studies using 3D Slicer. In this role, I perform pixel-level annotation on anatomical structures (organs like the liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas; bones such as vertebrae, femur, pelvic girdle; pathologies such as tumors, fractures), labeling them for training diagnostic algorithms (ground-truth data). The project covers ~500,000 individual image slices and the annotation time required per study varies from 2-4 hours depending on difficulty. Quality measures include following precise clinical annotation protocols developed in conjunction with the radiologists at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; obtaining 99% Intersection-over-Union accuracy on the validation set, daily peer reviews of annotated studies for consistency; and full HIPAA compliance ensuring all patient data is kept secure and anonymous throughout the workflow.
