I am a Japanese-English bilingual data engineer and NLP practitioner with deep experience in designing and implementing production-level systems for data labeling, annotation, and AI training data pipelines. My background spans over a decade in the financial sector as well as projects in tourism, space science, and news media, where I have led efforts in data cleansing, preprocessing, and information retrieval—such as building a search system for NHK news broadcasts and developing a video data management solution for JAXA’s Kibo module on the ISS. I am proficient in Python (including developing the natto-py package for Japanese morphological analysis), Hugging Face, PyTorch, Google Cloud Platform, and have hands-on experience with machine learning techniques like topic modeling, NER, and document classification. My work focuses on leveraging NLP and statistical methods to create robust, scalable data annotation and recommendation systems that drive customer engagement and support AI model development.

Extracted relevant text via regular expressions + NLTK, used Prodigy to label named entities and train a new NER type for stock ticker symbols, finally building a new spaCy NER pipeline for internal use at the bank, in English. Currently planning to do similar for Japanese.
