Freelancer Overview

Language researcher with a focus on cognitive science, linguistics, phonology, and speech perception. I hold a PhD in Experimental Psychology and two master’s degrees — one in Applied Linguistics and another in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language. I have contributed to numerous projects involving the annotation of audio data for linguistic, phonetic, and acoustic analysis. I also have extensive experience coding experiments and analyzing data, with a strong focus on Bayesian statistics. In addition to my academic background, I’ve worked as an AI trainer on various projects related to language and coding. Specifically, I’ve been involved in evaluating AI-generated code in Python and Swift, as well as assessing language model performance in Spanish with a focus on localisation, writing quality, truthfulness and instruction following issues.

I worked in a platform with multiple projects that involved training AI. The projects involved supervising the responses of an AI chatbot to prompts requiring both coding and Spanish language skills. The focus was on identifying issues related to truthfulness, instruction-following, and localization. Additionally, the role included reviewing assessments made by other workers during their interactions with the AI model. The project followed a multi-turn conversational structure. Each turn presented a prompt for which the model generated two responses. My task was to review both responses, choose the better one, and edit it if any issues were present.

Audio labeling

I have worked on multiple projects involving the analysis of sounds from different languages. In these projects, my main task was labeling speech sounds (e.g., vowels) in audio recordings using Praat. This labeling process is essential for subsequent linguistic, phonetic, and acoustic analyses. The projects I have participated in have focused on Chilean Spanish, as well as Mapudungun and Aymara, two Indigenous languages spoken in Chile. I will soon collaborate on a new project studying the Rapa Nui language.
