Drilling Assistant
As a Drilling Assistant, I participated in geotechnical and environmental site investigations for commercial and municipal clients. My role required technical fieldwork, close collaboration with engineers, and strict adherence to industry protocols. The position demanded knowledge of drilling operations, soil sampling, and site safety standards. • Supported hollow stem auger and rotary drilling operations for boreholes up to 10 m in depth • Collected disturbed and undisturbed soil samples (SPT, split-spoon, Shelby tube) for laboratory classification and strength testing • Logged soil stratigraphy and groundwater conditions for geotechnical reporting • Installed and decommissioned groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers following environmental protocols
